GM's Fully Electric Chevy Spark to Hit Markets in 2013

SAN DIEGO, CA--(Marketwire) - Ten years since General Motors destroyed its first fleet of electric cars, the company announces its reemergence back into the market with the introduction of the fully electric Chevy Spark.

Available to American consumers next year, the Spark's launch comes in reaction to an intensifying race to build the world's greenest car as Nissan, Tesla, Toyota and others compete to lead the way. Behind the scenes of this exciting new climate, Chris Paine's latest film depicts the revival of the niche market in Revenge of the Electric Car as a follow up to his previous film from the early 1990s, Who Killed the Electric Car?

Back then, GM was the first major automaker to mass-produce electric vehicles. But after infamously recalling and crushing every EV1 the company produced, will the Spark be enough to revive the support it lost from electric car advocates over a decade ago?

Check out the hype and get a sneak peak at the Spark's proposed 85 kw, 114 hp motor engine.
