October 11, 2012 07:00 ET

WINNIPEG, MANITOBA--(Marketwire - Oct. 11, 2012) - San Gold Corporation (TSX:SGR)(OTCQX:SGRCF) today announced preliminary results of operations at its Rice Lake Mining Complex in Manitoba, Canada for the quarter ended September 30, 2012.
Q3 Production Highlights
  • Record gold production of 27,084 ounces.
  • Mill production of 191,105 tons.
  • Mine production of 143,949 tons.
Third Quarter 2012 Preliminary Operating Results
rSan Gold produced 27,084 ounces of gold in the third quarter, bringing year-to-date production to 67,487 ounces. The operation milled a record 191,105 tons in the quarter at an average daily throughput of 2,077 tons per day, a 53% increase over the third quarter of 2011. Mill recovery was 93.3%. Milled grade was 5.21 grams per tonne which is slightly below the previous quarter.

"The quarterly milled grade and mine production reflect a slight delay in extracting ore from our higher grade stoping blocks. However, the Company remains on track to achieve our guidance of 95,000 to 105,000 ounces of gold in 2012," said San Gold President and Chief Executive Officer George Pirie.

Underground mine operations remain focused on developing an extensive mining complex that will facilitate access to the down dip extensions of the L10 and 007 deposits from the 16 and 26 Levels of the Rice Lake shaft infrastructure. This will allow the company to increase the number of working stopes in the Rice Lake Mine Complex and will also provide an ore handling infrastructure utilizing the Rice Lake shaft for ore generated from the L10 and 007 deposits. The company completed 1,632 metres of lateral development and 276 metres of vertical development during the quarter. The Company also completed a raise bore to improve ventilation capacity for mining operations.

Ganfeng Lithium was founded in the 2000 and listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange in August 2010, notably as the first publicly listed lithium company in China and has experienced rapid continuous growth over the last 11 years.
About the Blackstairs Project
The Blackstairs Project, comprised of eight mineral exploration licences totalling 292 square kilometres, is located 80 kilometres south of Dublin straddling the Counties of Carlow and Wicklow in Leinster, south-east Ireland. The Blackstairs Project encompasses an extensive NE-SW oriented 50 kilometre long rare metals pegmatite belt situated within the East Carlow Deformation Zone along the eastern side of the Leinster Granite. Approximately 19 significant lithium pegmatite occurrences have been discovered within the Blackstairs Project to date primarily as boulder trails with five buried pegmatites known through past trenching and drilling.
Due to the prevalent overburden cover and scarcity of outcrop, prospecting for lithium pegmatite boulders was the most successful exploration method utilised to identify priority target areas. The Aclare House occurrence, situated in the center of the Blackstairs Project was initially discovered through this exploration approach.
A pre-National Instrument 43-101 Standards of Disclosure for Minera Projectsl ("NI 43-101") historical resource of 570,000 tonnes grading 1.5% Li2O was reported at Aclare House. (A Qualified Person has not done sufficient work to classify the historical estimate as current mineral resources, the Company is not treating the historical estimate as current mineral resources and the historical estimate should not be relied upon.)
Other drilling highlights include 1.85% Li2O over 5.3 metres at Stranakelly and 1.66% Li2O over 9.4 metres at Moylisha.
The observed lithium bearing pegmatites and extensive boulder occurrences within the Blackstairs Project represent a highly prospective and underexplored region. In addition, the recent discovery of a high concentration of pegmatite boulders reporting grades exceeding 4% Li2O at Moylisha only serve to highlight the exploration potential of the Blackstairs Project.
John Harrop, P.Geo, is the Company's Qualified Person on the Blackstairs Project as required under NI 43-101 and has reviewed the technical information contained in this press release.
About International Lithium Corp.International Lithium Corp. is an exploration company with a focused portfolio of projects. A strong management team with personal ownership in the company compliments robust financial support from key stakeholders. A leading China based lithium product manufacturer, Jiangxi Ganfeng Lithium Co. Ltd., is a strategic partner and keystone investor in ILC.,. The Company currently has 9 active rare metals projects, including lithium-potash brines in Argentina and Nevada, and hard-rock pegmatites in Canada and Ireland.
The Company's primary focus is the Mariana lithium-potash brine project. Mariana is located in the renowned South American 'Lithium Belt' centred on the junction of Argentina, Bolivia and Chile that is host to the vast majority of global lithium resources, reserves and production. Mariana consists of a salar or 'salt lake' covering 160 square kilometres. The project strategically encompasses the entire mineral rich basin. The Mariana lithium-potash brine project ranks as one of the more prospective salars in the region.
Complementing the Company's lithium brine projects are rare metals pegmatite properties in Canada and Ireland. Despite the excellent accessibility of these hard-rock rare metals projects, there is limited past exploration and geochemical sampling for rare metals. There is a clear potential for exploration success and added value here as the Company strives to source rare metals to help meet the increasing demand through the growth in global technologies that utilize the rare metals suite of elements.
ILC's mandate is to increase shareholder value through aggressive advancement of its core projects and to source joint venture partners to expand the scope and diversify risk of its exploration effort.

US Department of Defense Contracts With Ucore for Metallurgical & SPE Studies

 (ccnm)
HALIFAX, NOVA SCOTIA--(Marketwire - Oct. 1, 2012) - Ucore Rare Metals Inc. (TSX VENTURE:UCU)(OTCQX:UURAF) ("Ucore" or "the Company") is pleased to announce that the United States Department of Defense (DOD) has contracted with Ucore via the Company's US operating subsidiary Landmark Alaska L.P. to conduct a mineralogical and metallurgical study on the Company's Bokan Mountain heavy REE property in Southeast Alaska. The program, to be managed by DOD under the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) will focus on possible development of Bokan Mountain, America's largest NI 43-101 compliant heavy rare earth resource, to meet the requirements of the Department of Defense for an ongoing supply of critical heavy REE's. Under the agreement, Ucore will provide DOD with the most up-to-date data on the Bokan project's mineralogy and proprietary bench and pilot scale Solid Phase Extraction (SPE) nanotechnology research.

According to a March 2012 report from DOD, yttrium, terbium, and dysprosium are all considered to be "critical to the production, sustainment, or operation of significant United States military equipment," as well as "subject to interruption of supply, based on actions or events outside the control of the government of the United States." Yttrium, in particular, was shown to be in deficit when considering projected future domestic supply.

This announcement demonstrates strong interest by the U.S. Government in domestic mining and  production of rare earth elements to support the heavy rare earth requirements of DOD. Bokan Mountain is the richest domestic source of three heavy rare earth elements -dysprosium, terbium, and yttrium - which are critical to several advanced weapon systems, such as stealth helicopters and precision-guided weapons. Currently, all of the world's commercially-available heavy rare earth elements are produced in China. Ongoing production and export quotas have limited the availability of these materials to global markets.

"The United States does not yet have the capability to produce three of the heavy rare earths that occur naturally and in abundance in Bokan Mountain," said Jim McKenzie, President and CEO of Ucore. "The Department of Defense's investment in the Bokan deposit and Ucore's proprietary SPE technology represents a significant step toward recapturing the rare earths technological lead surrendered to China decades ago. What's more, the DOD relationship adds a great deal of credibility to Ucore's domestic supply chain development, representing one of the largest purchasing capabilities amongst prospective customers worldwide."

About Ucore Rare Metals Inc.
Ucore Rare Metals Inc. is a well-funded development-phase mining company focused on establishing rare metal resources with near term production potential. With multiple projects across North America, Ucore's primary focus is the 100% owned Bokan - Dotson Ridge REE property in Alaska. The Bokan - Dotson ridge REE project is located 60 km southwest of Ketchikan, Alaska and 140 km northwest of Prince Rupert, British Columbia and has direct ocean access to the western seaboard and the Pacific Rim, a significant advantage in developing near term production facilities and limiting the capital costs associated with mine construction.

The Bokan property is particularly enriched with heavy rare earth elements, including the critical elements Dysprosium, Terbium and Yttrium. Approximately 40% (by weight) of the rare earth elements contained on the Dotson Ridge property are heavy rare earths elements, as disclosed in the Company's NI43-101 compliant resource estimate, released in March of 2011.

TNR Gold Extends Mineralized Zones At Shotgun With 209 Metres Of 1.02 g/t Gold

 (prnews)
VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Sept. 27, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- TNR Gold Corp. (the "Company") (TSX-TNR) is pleased to announce assay results from the second hole of the 2012 drilling program on the Shotgun gold project in Alaska.  Drill hole SR12-57 returned 209 metres averaging 1.02 grams per tonne gold across the full length of the targeted porphyry system. These results include several higher-grade intercepts that confirm the Company's model of mineralization where elevated gold values occur in repeating structural features through the Shotgun Ridge area.
  • Drill hole SR12-57 returns mineralized interval of 209 metres averaging 1.02 grams per tonne gold.
  • Included within this interval is 61.4m averaging 1.53 g/t Au.
  • Combined with SR12-56 (containing a 242m interval with 1.25 grams per tonne gold), the gold mineralization model at Shotgun Ridge is confirmed along strike and down dip.
  • Drill hole SR12-57 ended in mineralization at a down hole depth of 300 metres (approximately 150m below the topographic surface).
Drilling Results
Diamond drill hole SR12-57 was drilled at the same orientation as SR06-43, approximately 35m to the southwest (SR06-43 was previously reported to contain 210 metres averaging 1.3 g/t Au). SR12-57 was one of three drill holes drilled in 2012 to test continuation of the mineralized zones encountered in 06-43 along strike and to depth. 12-57 is the first drill hole in a fence below 06-43 and together enhances the Company's understanding of the controls on gold mineralization at Shotgun Ridge.

Three zones are identified by more intense brecciation and increased gold grades within the porphyritic intrusive and correlate well between all 2012 drill holes. These new results, combined with those previously released for SR12-56, significantly reinforce confidence in the specific orientation of the higher-grade southwest dipping mineralized zones and provide a basis for future drill targeting.  The strongest mineralization encountered in hole SR12-57 is coincident with interpreted geophysical anomalies.  The hole, drilled at a 45 degree angle down the side of the ridge, ended in mineralization at a down hole depth of 300m which is approximately 150m below the topographic surface.

Drill targeting was aided by geophysical surveys conducted in 2011. The IP/Resistivity surveys were successful in identifying the position of important, mineralization controlling structures and contacts.  The geophysical surveys were expanded in 2012. The Company believes that the new drill results confirm the orientation of these key structures and the correlation with geophysical anomalies provide a clear targeting method for continued drill programs and future resource delineation.

"We are encouraged by the uniformity of gold grades across the reported intersections and that the averages are not supported by narrow, high grade intervals.  The results build on the success of the 2011 geophysical surveys, and establish an exploration method that can locate buried targets at the Shotgun property.  This is a key step in being able to apply geophysical results from 2012 to planning for the next season of exploration," comments John Harrop, VP Exploration

"The positive results from this year's drilling have significantly elevated the projects' potential and is a major turning point in the exploration at Shotgun Ridge. A previous interpretation of the mineralization at Shotgun showed limited room for expansion. Confirmation of our new model greatly increases the size potential of Shotgun and opens up a number of new zones that will be tested next season," Gary Schellenberg, President and Executive Chairman."

About the Shotgun Gold Project
TNR holds a 100% interest in the Shotgun property located 175 kilometres south of Donlin Creek within the Kuskokwim Gold Belt in southwestern Alaska. This area is emerging as a world-class, multimillion ounce gold district. The Shotgun property includes a number of prospects, including Shotgun Ridge and nearby Winchester. Donlin is an intrusion-associated system and represents one of the largest undeveloped gold deposits in the world. The Company believes that there are several key similarities between prospects on the Shotgun property and that of the Donlin Creek gold deposit as well as other important intrusion-associated deposits.

Analytical work was conducted by Inspectorate (A Bureau Veritas Group Company) with prep work performed in their Fairbanks Alaska facility.  Fire assay with ICP-ES finishing was conducted by Acme Analytical laboratories (A Bureau Veritas Group Company) in Vancouver, Canada.  Samples with greater than 10 g/t Au were automatically reanalysed using fire assay with a gravimetric finish.  Both of these laboratories are ISO 9000 certified and in addition Acme has ISO 17025 certification.  TNR Gold inserts certified reference materials and blanks in a quality control procedure that follow industry current best practices.

John Harrop, PGeo, FGS, a Qualified Person for TNR Gold Corp. as defined by NI 43-101 has reviewed the technical information contained in this report.

Ucore Rare Earths welcomes Alaska State Initiative to Support Bokan Metallurgical Research

HALIFAX, NOVA SCOTIA--(Marketwire - Sept. 25, 2012) - Ucore Rare Metals Inc. (TSX VENTURE:UCU)(OTCQX:UURAF) ("Ucore" or "the Company") is pleased to report that the Mineral Industry Research Laboratory of the University of Alaska Fairbanks ("UAF" or "the University") has been awarded $297,000 by the Alaska Department of Commerce, Community and Economic Development.
UAF will be conducting research with respect to the processing and extracting of rare earth element-bearing minerals from ore material sourced from Ucore's Bokan Mountain deposit. The University will also conduct research on the procedure for the handling of waste rock. These specific process refinements will further enhance metallurgical testing carried out by Ucore. The announcement of this funding highlights the active role of the State of Alaska in the development of its enormous rare earth mineral potential.

"We're extremely pleased to have the University of Alaska Fairbanks team involved with the Bokan Mountain project," said Jim McKenzie, President and CEO of Ucore. "We welcome the opportunity to work with a very skilled and mining-experienced research staff at UAF, accessing the advanced human and technical resources available at that facility.

"UAF is the home of the College of Engineering and Mines," continued McKenzie. "That institution has provided immeasurable support to mine design projects throughout the state, expediting and improving both ore extraction and processing methodologies. UAF research involvement should also be indispensable as we advance into pilot scale testing in 2013. We'd additionally like to take this opportunity to thank Governor Parnell's office for its involvement in this initiative and for the ongoing support of the Bokan Mountain Heavy Rare Earth Project by the State of Alaska."

Approximately 40% (by weight) of the rare earth elements contained on the Dotson Ridge property are heavy rare earths elements, as disclosed in the Company's NI 43-101 compliant resource estimate, released in March of 2011.
