  • PROCESS AND COST STRUCTURE TO PRODUCE BATTERY GRADE LITHIUM CARBONATE REMAINS LARGELY THE SAME AS THAT REPORTED IN THE COMPANY’S PRELIMINARY ECONOMIC ASSESSMENT
  • RODINIA CONTINUES TO WORK ON A REVISED RESOURCE ESTIMATE, ON THE OPERATION OF THE PILOT CYCLE, AND ON COMPLETING THE FEASIBLITY STUDY.  ALL MAJOR DRILLING AND CONSTRUCTION WORK IS COMPLETE
Toronto, Canada, October 16, 2012: Rodinia Lithium Inc. (TSX-V: RM; OTCQX: RDNAF) successfully produced lithium carbonate from the concentrated brine derived from the pilot ponds installed at its Diablillos property, located in Salta, Argentina.  This first batch of lithium carbonate achieved a purity of 99.45% Li2CO3, and can be further washed employing the same methods to 99.75% Li2CO3.  The process employed during the production of lithium carbonate is approximately the same as described in the Company’s Preliminary Economic Assessment (“PEA”) filed on SEDAR at www.sedar.com.

William Randall, Rodinia’s President  & CEO, commented, “The production of battery grade lithium carbonate from brine concentrated on site is a major milestone for Rodinia.  This reflects on both the quality of our brine and that of our team, who has advanced this project through the initial phases with remarkable success.  This last achievement serves as further encouragement that our process design, as described in the PEA, can achieve high purity lithium carbonate production at the estimated costs.”

The brine was concentrated and treated on site at the Salar and then shipped to SGS Laboratories in Lakefield, ON.  The brine was then processed to prioritize lithium carbonate production following the flow sheet described in the PEA.  Further batches of concentrated brine derived from the pilot ponds will be available for further processing prior to completing a full cycle at pilot scale in the first quarter of 2013.  Completion of the pilot plant cycle is expected during the first quarter of 2013 and is expected to be the final component of the upcoming Feasibility Study.

William Randall added, “The next deliverable is expected to be the completion of an upgraded resource estimate that, in conjunction with the information gathered during operation of the pilot plant in Q1 2013, will form the basis of the Feasibility Study.  All drilling and major construction work has been completed on site, which means we can focus our resources on the optimization of our Feasibility Study.”

Western Lithium Provides Update on Commercial Clay and Lithium Strategy

(Marketwire - Sept. 14, 2012) - Western Lithium USA Corporation (TSX:WLC)(OTCQX:WLCDF) (the "Company" or "Western Lithium") is pleased to announce that it is continuing to advance its commercial clay strategy with the goal of becoming a specialty supplier of Hectorite clay based drilling additives to the oil and gas industry. Over the past several years, the oil and gas industry has seen strong growth from unconventional shale gas drilling in the USA. Hectorite clay based drilling additives are particularly applicable for unconventional shale drilling due to their thermal and gelling properties that can improve performance when developing deep deposits that require horizontal drilling. Last year, Western Lithium commissioned a well-equipped clay laboratory in Nevada, and has been developing formulations of gel and organoclay drilling additives to meet Association of Petroleum Institute industry standards. To make gel and organoclay, the Company's Hectorite clay must be processed using an extruder and combined with several additives. Gel typically sells for FOB shipping point US$90 to $130 per short ton and organoclay sells in a range of US$2,000 to $4,500 per short ton, depending on performance.

Western Lithium has completed pilot testing of several hundred pounds of gel and organoclay and will begin to identify certain buyers to test the performance of the products for indicative pricing and volumes. The Company believes that it can make a premium product using a cost effective dry processing method. In addition, the Company has initiated discussions with both existing producers, and potential process manufacturers, and is investigating possible sites to establish a dedicated plant.

"Our commercial clay strategy is envisioned as a low capital opportunity to generate cash flow by selling specialty drilling additives to service a growing shale drilling industry. Our business plan is designed to sustain and complement our efforts to advance our lithium project," said Jay Chmelauskas, President and CEO of Western Lithium. "We believe that we are at the forefront of a global shift towards development of cleaner, cheaper new energy resources using unconventional drilling technology. We are positioning the Company to have exposure to two transformational industries; the electrification of transportation using lithium ion batteries and development of new domestic-based and international energy sources from shale."

The Hectorite clay is located on the Company's wholly owned Kings Valley Lithium deposit in Nevada, and extraction of the clay would not be expected to impact future lithium project development. The Company continues to seek a strategic partner to fund the next stage of its lithium mine development. The recently announced US$724M acquisition of Talison Lithium Ltd. by Rockwood Holdings Inc. supports the Company's position that the lithium market fundamentals remain positive and future demand will support new production entrants. The Company believes that the main lithium demand driver will be from the adoption of hybrid and electric vehicles in the coming years. Western Lithium is strategically located in Nevada, USA, to serve domestic markets and exports to Asia.

Unconventional drilling technology using deep directional drilling and hydraulic fracking techniques has been developed over the past twenty years. Over the past decade, commercial natural gas and oil production has been established in significant shale basins within the USA. Development efforts have increased significantly over the past several years and natural gas from unconventional drilling now accounts for over 23% of natural gas production within the USA, according to the US Energy Information Administration. In addition, countries in Asia, South America, Africa and Europe have identified significant shale basins for potential exploration and development. According to the China National Energy Administration development five-year plan released on March 16, 2012, China announced that it intends to begin exploration and development of its shale gas resources to reach commercial production by 2015. The Company believes that continued growth of shale gas drilling in the USA combined with a global push towards developing shale gas resources will provide strong growth for Western Lithium's strategy to build a specialty drilling additives business.
Western Lithium is developing the Kings Valley, Nevada lithium deposit into a strategic, scalable and reliable source of high quality lithium carbonate. The Company is positioning itself as a major U.S.-based supplier to support the rising global demand for lithium carbonate that is expected from the increased use of hybrid/electric vehicles. The Company is also investigating the potential to be a supplier of specialty Hectorite clay drilling additives to the oil and gas industry, and in particular, to support the growth of unconventional drilling.

Talison Lithium completes new plant

Talison Lithium Announces Official Opening of Greenbushes Lithium Operations Plant Expansion (ccnm)

PERTH, WESTERN AUSTRALIA--(Marketwire - Aug. 10, 2012) -Talison Lithium Limited ("Talison" or the "Company") (TSX:TLH) is pleased to announce the official opening of the Greenbushes Lithium Operations plant expansion, located in Western Australia.

Over 150 international and local guests and dignitaries including customers, shareholders and local community members attended the official opening ceremony at the Greenbushes Lithium Operations. Guests were addressed by Peter Robinson, Chairman and Pat Scallon, General Manager Greenbushes before undertaking a tour of the mine and processing plants. The expansion was officially opened by the Honourable Terry Redman MLA, West Australian Minster for Agriculture and Food, Forestry, Housing and Member for Blackwood-Stirling.

Enabling growth into the future
Peter Robinson, addressing the attendees said, "Talison was, and remains of the view that lithium will be a major part of the world's new energy future, not just for mobile electronics such as iPads, but electric vehicles, grid stabilisation batteries, and solar storage. The expansion demonstrates Talison's commitment to this belief and provides these new industries with confidence that lithium will be available to support the new energy future."

The Expansion was completed and commissioned in June 2012, doubling Talison's production capabilities to around 100,000 tonnes lithium carbonate equivalent per annum. This equates to nearly two-thirds of current global demand. The Expansion was deliberately designed to be large scale to both provide operational efficiencies and enable Talison to support the needs of the lithium market into the future.

Talison expects to progressively increase capacity utilisation of its expanded chemical-grade concentrate processing plant as the lithium market grows. However, the Expansion also provides Talison with the capacity to respond rapidly to changing conditions in the lithium market.

Peter Robinson continued, "Looking forward to the future, this new expansion will also provide high-quality feedstock for our own plant to produce lithium carbonate for customers in countries including Japan, Korea and Europe. This is the next exciting phase of growth for Talison."

ABOUT TALISON
Talison is a leading global producer of lithium and has been supplying a global customer network from the Greenbushes Lithium Operations in Western Australia for over 25 years. In anticipation of sustained growth in lithium consumption, driven primarily by the secondary lithium battery market, Talison has doubled its production capacity at the Greenbushes Lithium Operations and is advancing several growth projects including a lithium carbonate plant in Western Australia.

Talison Lithium Concludes Negotiations for H1 CY12 Sales and Achieves a 15% Price Increase for All Products

PERTH, WESTERN AUSTRALIA--(Marketwire - Dec. 22, 2011) -
First Half Calendar 2012 Sales
Talison Lithium Limited ("Talison" or the "Company") (TSX:TLH) advises that it has concluded negotiations with its customers with regards to first half calendar 2012 sales. A price increase of 15% has been agreed with customers across Talison's entire product range. Approximately 75% of sales for the period have been contracted with the balance to be sold to other customers who typically contract on a shipment by shipment basis.

Bunbury Port Congestion
Due to berth closures and unplanned Port outages there is currently significant congestion at the Port of Bunbury impacting all Port users. This may result in approximately 38,000 tonnes of Talison's lithium concentrate sales that were ready at the Port for shipment earlier this month being delayed into early January 2012. A delay would reduce sales for the December quarter but is not expected to affect sales for the 2012 fiscal year.

1 Year Injury Free
Talison has recently passed an important milestone of one year lost time injury (LTI) free days at its Greenbushes Lithium Operations. This was achieved through the commitment of all employees and contractors towards safety. The milestone is especially notable as it was achieved during the presence of a large additional workforce on site as part of the current expansion of the Greenbushes Lithium Operations.

About Talison
Talison is a leading global producer of lithium. Talison has been producing lithium concentrate for a global customer network from the Greenbushes Lithium Operations in Western Australia for over 25 years. In addition, Talison explores for lithium at the Salares 7 lithium project made up of seven salars located in Region III, Chile.

MOORESVILLE, NC--(Marketwire - March 7, 2011) - In 2007, Li-ion Motors Corp. (http://www.li-ionmotors.com) (OTCBB: LMCO) (FRANKFURT: LL9L) joined with Sam's Club, a division of Wal-Mart, Inc., the nation's leading retailer, to create a "Once-in-a-Lifetime" gift package for its 47 million members.
Just seconds after it went live on the Sam's Club website, the one-of-a-kind package which combined a Li-ion Motors lithium-ion battery powered Smart Car conversion with a behind-the-scenes, VIP trip to NASA's Kennedy Space Center to witness a shuttle launch first-hand, was purchased by Keith Branyon, an attorney from Texas.
It was also significant as it was the first lithium-ion battery powered car ever sold to a private citizen in the world.
