RODINIA LITHIUM COMMENCES CONSTRUCTION OF PILOT PRODUCTION FACILITY AT DIABLILLOS

  • THREE PHASE PROGRAM TO BE IMPLEMENTED, INCLUDING CONSTRUCTION AND OPERATION OF EVAPORATION PANS, POOLS AND LINED PONDS

  • EVAPORATION PANS AND LARGER POOLS CURRENTLY INSTALLED AND IN OPERATION

  • PILOT PRODUCTION PONDS ARE ANTICIPATED TO BE OVER 25 HECTARES IN SIZE

  • FINAL PILOT PRODUCTION FACILITY WILL BE CAPABLE OF PRODUCING UP TO 200 TONNES OF LITHIUM CARBONATE A YEAR
Toronto, Canada, February 15, 2012: Rodinia Lithium Inc. (“Rodinia” or the “Company”) (TSX-V: RM; OTCQX: RDNAF) is pleased to announce that construction and operation of a pilot production facility has commenced on its 100% owned Salar de Diablillos lithium brine project (“Diablillos” or “Salar”) located in Salta Province, Argentina.  The pilot production facility aims to confirm the proposed process described in the recent Preliminary Economic Assessment (“PEA”) dated December 22, 2011 filed on SEDAR and its results will be incorporated into a Feasibility Study.  The facility aims to produce battery grade lithium carbonate on site, reflecting the operating conditions of a potential final production facility, including production of potash and boric acid.
“In conjunction with initiating our first production sized well, Rodinia has initiated work to complete the construction and operation of a pilot production facility that is anticipated to produce boric acid, potash and battery grade lithium carbonate on site,” commented William Randall, President and CEO of Rodinia.  “The three phase program allows us to work out any potential problem areas before we reach that phase in our larger lined pond system, allowing the Company to develop the project more aggressively.  In addition to confirming the processing flow sheet, the pilot production facility will allow us to demonstrate the potentially low production costs estimated in the recent PEA.”
Description of the Pilot Program
Phase I-Evaporation Pans:
Seasonal evaporation rates and the natural phase chemistry of the Diablillos brine are being determined through the use of six standard evaporation pans, each 4 feet in diameter and 25cm tall, buried in the ground near the existing weather station.  Pan A contains fresh water and is used to determine the evaporative potential at Diablillos.  Pans 1, 2 and 3 are filled with the indigenous brine, and refilled in sequence, to concentrate the brine and to measure evaporation rates versus density.  Crystal and residual brine samples from pans 4 and 5 are collected every two days and analyzed to evaluate the evolving natural phase chemistry.  The final concentrated brine will be used to conduct bench testing and process evaluation to maximize the recovery of lithium, the recovery of potassium and boron co-products and to determine the size of production ponds.  Pan A, and pans 1, 2 and 3 have been in place since May 2011;  pans 4 and 5 are recent additions to increase concentrated brine volume for bench tests.
Phase II - Evaporation Pools/Bench Testing
The evaporation pools will provide a large volume of concentrated brine for bench tests.  Ten evaporation pools, each 10 square meters in area, have been installed adjacent to the evaporation pans.  The pools have been filled with brine from a well located in the proposed production field as noted in the PEA.  Bench scale processing of the concentrated bittern from these pools will further define the processing scheme tested in Phase I and refine the economic aspects of the process flow sheet.
Phase III - Pilot Ponds/Pilot Plant
Bench scale process testing will be ramped up to larger pre-production volumes through the construction, filling, evaporation and processing of brine in large pilot evaporation ponds.  The ponds will cover approximately 25 hectares and will be lined.  Initially, brine from the production well will fill the entirety of the pond area.  As evaporation occurs the brine will be concentrated in a larger initial pond as it reaches saturation.   The ponds will then be used in sequence to demonstrate the proposed process to isolate sodium (“Na”), potassium (“K”), and magnesium (“Mg”) salts and produce a concentrated lithium-rich bittern.  The process is also anticipated to harvest sylvinite.  In addition, exploration is underway to define a suitable area of the Salar's surface for an unlined pond, which will have minimal leakage. This pond is anticipated to be the largest of the commercial production ponds and used for the primary evaporation stage.  A pilot plant will be designed and assembled on site. It is intended to process the resultant lithium-rich bittern.
The Project is supervised by Ray Spanjers, Rodinia’s Manager of Exploration.  Mr. Spanjers is considered a qualified person, as defined by National Instrument 43-101, and has reviewed and approved the scientific and technical information in this release.

Rodinia Lithium fast tracks first production well at Diabillos

Rodinia Lithium Commences Drilling of First Production Well at Diablillos
3 hours ago by Marketwire
Rodinia Lithium Inc. ("Rodinia" or the "Company") (TSX VENTURE: RM)(OTCQX: RDNAF) is pleased to announce that a drill has been mobilized and is set to commence drilling the first production well on its 100% owned Salar de Diablillos lithium brine project ("Diablillos" or "Salar") located in Salta Province, Argentina.

The first production sized well is to be drilled in the vicinity of DRC-01 that intersected averages of 713 mg/L lithium ("Li"), 9,000 mg/L potassium ("K"), and 543 mg/L boron ("B") over the 120 metre drill hole depth (refer to press release dated September 17, 2010).
"Initiating our first production sized well only 17 months after the discovery hole at Diablillos was announced, in our opinion, demonstrates the company's strategy to fast track the development of the project," commented William Randall, President & CEO of Rodinia. "This marks yet another important step towards completing the work required for a feasibility study. This first production well, along with the majority of the subsequent evaluation work to follow, will be designed and executed in a manner such that they can also be incorporated into the commercial production facility. This is anticipated to save us time and capital as we continue to move towards production."

The production well is designed to evaluate the range of pumping rates, well efficiencies and drawdown/recharge characteristics of the middle and lower aquifers during a long term high volume pump test. The plan is to install a deep well pump, capable of volumes up to 3800 l/min, in a 10-inch diameter cased well 237 meters deep terminated just above the crystalline basement rocks. The proposed pump test will proceed for 10-15 days and will provide engineering data for a feasibility study.

The production well is to be drilled in the vicinity of the anticipated commercial production well field. The well will target the two largest aquifers modeled in the resource estimate, in addition to being located in one of the deepest portions of the basin. The well is also centered in close proximity to the higher grade portions of the resource, potentially allowing higher grades to be accessed during the initial production years.

The Project is supervised by Ray Spanjers, Rodinia's Manager of Exploration. Mr. Spanjers is considered a qualified person, as defined by National Instrument 43-101, and has reviewed and approved the scientific and technical information in this release. According to the Company's sampling protocol, sample size is to exceed 500 millilitres and be stored in clean, secure containers for transportation. The prepared samples are then forwarded to the ALS Laboratory Group, Environmental Division, in Fort Collins, Co (USA) for analysis. A rigorous QA/QC program is implemented consisting of regular insertion of standards and blanks to ensure laboratory integrity.

Rodinia Lithium Confirms High Transmissivity and Effective Porosity of Brine-Containing Sediments With Initial Pumping and Tracer Test Results

Rodinia Lithium Inc. ("Rodinia" or the "Company") (TSX VENTURE:RM)(OTCQX: RDNAF)
is pleased to provide an update on progress at its Salar de Diablillos project ("Diablillos" or "Salar") located in Salta Province, Argentina. Results for the first series of pumping and tracer tests performed at Diablillos have been processed, resulting in high transmissivity and effective porosity values. The estimated total transmissivity is more than 300 m2/day with horizontal hydraulic conductivity of about 4 m/day. The estimated effective porosity is 15%. These parameters translate to higher recovery rates per well and an overall higher recovery of the in-situ brine in the event of production.

William Randall, President & CEO of Rodinia, commented "The results of these pump tests are a resounding success for the company and an important step in confirming the productive potential of the Salar. The resultant high transmissivity and effective porosity values, as determined by these tests, confirm Diablillos' very large recoverable resource, and allow us to estimate the well requirements for our upcoming Preliminary Economic Assessment, which we expect to be able to deliver in the fourth quarter of this year.

The pumping test site consisted of two pumping wells and four monitoring wells. Pumping tests were performed for 18 hours and 72 hours, using tracer dye injected in an observation well within the lower sediments to monitor brine flow, and a cyclone to neutralize the effects of the gas dissolution from the brine.
SRK Consulting ("SRK") was retained earlier this year to design and supervise the pumping tests as well as to complete the upcoming Preliminary Economic Assessment. SRK has a demonstrated record of accomplishment in undertaking independent assessments of mineral resources and mineral reserves, project evaluations and audits, technical reports and independent feasibility evaluations to bankable standards on behalf of exploration and mining companies and financial institutions worldwide. SRK has also worked with a large number of major international mining companies and their projects, providing mining industry consultancy service inputs. SRK is a leading international practice in due diligence, scoping, pre-feasibility and feasibility studies that employs seasoned specialists in each field of science, geology and engineering. They have extensive experience with in-situ recovery and brine extraction type projects around the world, including Argentina.

SRK's team is led by Terry Braun and Dr. Vladimir Ugorets as Qualified Persons for the project. Dr. Ugorets has more than 32 years of professional experience in hydrogeology, developing and implementing groundwater flow and solute-transport models related to mine dewatering, groundwater contamination, and water resource development. Dr. Ugorets' areas of expertise are in design and optimization of extraction-injection wellfields, development of conceptual and numerical groundwater flow and solute-transport models, and dewatering optimization for open-pit, underground and ISR mines.

The Project is supervised by Ray Spanjers, Rodinia's Manager of Exploration. Mr. Spanjers is considered a qualified person, as defined by National Instrument 43-101, and has reviewed and approved the scientific and technical information in this release. Rodinia Lithium Announces Up to 1,800 mg/L Lithium from Aquifer I Pit Sample Results

Rodinia Lithium Inc.Rodinia Lithium Inc.

TSX VENTURE : RM
OTCQX : RDNAF

July 13, 2011 07:30 ET

- Brine Samples from Surface Pits Return Grades Up to 1,800 mg/L Lithium and 13,000 mg/L Potassium

- Samples Taken from Surface Pits Resulting from Mining of Ulexite

- Represent Highest Grade Sample Results from Diablillos

- Samples Were Taken from Aquifer I, Opening Up the Potential to Recover the Brine from This Aquifer by Open Pit or Trenching

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - July 13, 2011) - Rodinia Lithium Inc. ("Rodinia" or the "Company") (TSX VENTURE:RM)(OTCQX:RDNAF) is pleased to announce results from an additional surface sampling program at its Salar de Diablillos project ("Diablillos" or "Salar") located in Salta Province, Argentina. Results from three large surface pits, a result of current surface mining of ulexite within the top three meters of the Salar, returned high grade values of lithium ("Li"), potassium ("K") and boron ("B"). In particular, samples P8 and P9 returned the highest lithium values sampled on the Salar, with values up to 1800 mg/L Li, 13000 mg/L K, and 990 mg/L B.

William Randall, President & CEO of Rodinia, commented, "The results from these samples are a very pleasant surprise as they are considerably higher grade than our previous surface sampling program, performed with an auger drill. What makes these samples even more encouraging is the fact that they were collected following a period of intense rainfall, possibly the largest in recorded history, meaning that these samples have probably not been further concentrated from their original geochemistry. This is a major development in the definition of Aquifer I. We will now look at the possibility of developing this aquifer through a series of pits or trenches, in a similar way to the brine potash mines of the Utah Salt Flats. Management remains optimistic that this may potentially provide the Company with high grade, low cost initial production with respect to the Salar."

Table 1 – Results from pit samples P7, P8 & P9 – All samples taken in the same area of the Salar.
Sample Li (mg/L) K (mg/L) B (mg/L) Mg:Li SO4:Li
P7 590 6100 650 4.41 16.44
P8 1800 13000 840 3.39 6.67
P9 1400 13000 970 3.36 8.57
The pit samples maintain the favourable geochemistry of the Salar's brine, which is characterized by low magnesium to lithium ratios and distinctively low sulphate to lithium ratios. Lower sulphate levels can reduce the need for expensive reagents, such a calcium chloride ("CaCl2"), during the conventional evaporation processing techniques expected to be employed at the Salar.

The Project is supervised by Ray Spanjers, Rodinia's Manager of Exploration. Mr. Spanjers is considered a qualified person, as defined by National Instrument 43-101, and has reviewed and approved the scientific and technical information in this release. According to the Company's sampling protocol, sample size is to exceed 500 millilitres and is stored in clean, secure containers for transportation. Rodinia Lithium flying under the radar, according to Dundee Capital Management!

Salta ProvinceImage via Wikipedia“Top pick – Rodinia Lithium (RM) – 194% lift to our C$1.00/sh target. Rodinia is flying under the radar while developing two projects in safe jurisdictions – Daiblillos in Salta Province, Argentina, and Clayton Valley in Nevada where it is adjacent to the only US lithium producer. If we have a lithium sector “top pick” this would be it although this is a speculative risk stock. Our target suggests a triple and we believe we are still being conservative. Our production rate assumption is less than its peers and easily supported by its large 5 million tonne LCE resource. We exclude potash or boron production and upside potential. Where this stock struggles is that it will be likely last to the party with production due in perhaps 2015, and due to its small market cap.”

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - June 8, 2011) - Rodinia Lithium Inc. ("Rodinia" or the "Company") (TSX VENTURE:RM)(OTCQX:RDNAF) is pleased to announce results from its continued reverse circulation drill program at its Salar de Diablillos project ("Diablillos" or "Salar") located in Salta Province, Argentina. Continued drilling at Diablillos has resulted in further intersections of high grade lithium brine in the northwestern portion of the Salar, which management believes may have a positive impact on the recently defined resource estimate.

William Randall, President & CEO of Rodinia, commented "We are encouraged with high grade lithium results in areas that will have a significant impact on the potential of the property. DRC-19 shows that the high grade northwestern portion of the Salar is extensive and does not encounter fresh water on our property. This will be, in all likelihood, the focus of our development on the project and the location of our pumping test wells. This area coincides roughly with the high grade area defined by our auger drilling and includes such holes as D-RC-01 which intersected lithium values of up to 810 mg/l and returned averages of 713 mg/L lithium, 9,000 mg/L potassium, and 543 mg/L boron over the 120 metre drill hole depth (refer to Press Release dated September 17, 2010)."

DRC-18 intersected 54 metres averaging 647 mg/l lithium ("Li"), 739 mg/l boron ("B") and 7056 mg/l potassium (K) down to the bottom of the hole. This drill hole was collared in the north of the property outline towards the very west margin indicating mineralization right to the Salar margin to significant depths. The high grade brines encountered in this hole suggest that the northwestern portion of the deposit does not come in direct contact with fresh water sources, thus avoiding dilution problems in the event of sustained pumping in the future. In addition, the basements depths encountered exceed those predicted by the gravity survey.

D-RC-18 intersected basement gneissic rocks at 88.5 metres. The basement is thought to be highly fractured resulting in a permeable unit with high grade lithium-potash brines. Flow rates in the fractured basement were higher or comparable to the predominantly sand and gravel lithologies found uphole.

Two more exploration holes were completed in the southernmost portions of the property on the Salar margins and/or off the resource area. These holes were designed to test the potential continuity of the brine past the defined resource. These two holes (D-RC-19 and D-RC-20) did not intersect significant mineralization with grades up to 140 mg/l lithium.

DIAMOND DRILLING & SEISMIC SURVEY CONTRACTS SIGNED, EVAPORATION PANS INSTALLED
Rodinia is also pleased to announce that it has mobilized a diamond drill to its Diablillos property. The contractor has ample experience drilling in the tough Puna plateau conditions within sedimentary basins. The diamond drill will help refine the geological model of the basin stratigraphy as well as determine optimal placement of the pumping wells to be employed during the pump tests. The Company is currently finalizing the layout of the test and monitoring wells and will commence drilling them within the upcoming weeks. A minimum of two drills will be active on this work program to ensure expeditious results.

In addition, the Company has engaged a contractor to complete seismic profiles of the entire property. The results of the survey are thought to aid in the interpretation of the basement depth and shape, structural geology, and determine the continuity of the relatively minor clay layers encountered during drilling. The intent is to properly isolate the three aquifers to further understand the effect of sustained production in the event of commercial production.

Ray Spanjers, Manager of Exploration of Rodinia, commented "We expect to significantly refine and improve our understanding of the Diablillos deposit with this work program in order to accelerate completion of the Preliminary Economic Assessment. We have also installed four evaporation pans which, in conjunction with over 2 years of weather data from the immediate vicinity of the Salar, will allow us to accurately model the evaporation process and ensure we maximize our lithium and potash recoveries."

A sampling procedure was enforced by management to ensure sample integrity during the drill program. Where possible, brine and sediments samples were air lifted, and water restricted to the upper part of the hole before the water table was intercepted. Once brine bearing horizons were intercepted, drilling was halted and the drilling pipe lifted 2 feet or more to allow the total flushing of the internal pipe by means of air pressure for approximately ten minutes or until the brine appeared reasonably clean of sediment. After sufficient air lifting of the brine, a sample was collected in 500 ml sample bottles that had been washed three times with the brine. Liquid was also collected in five gallon buckets and the time of filling of the bucket recorded, in order to aid in quantifying the formational flow.

- BASEMENT INTERSECTED APPROXIMATELY 38.5 METRES DEEPER THAN PREDICTED

- RESULTS EXPECTED TO INCREASE THE RECOVERABLE RESOURCE
- EXPLORATION PROGRAM IS ONGOING AT THE SALAR DE DIABLILLOS

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - May 5, 2011) - Rodinia Lithium Inc. Drilling successfully resumed at Diablillos late February, after experiencing heavier rains than usual during January and February 2011. It is anticipated that the results, summarized below, may expand the resource at depth and laterally, while confirming the continuity of the aquifers and the contained lithium brines.

William Randall, President CEO of Rodinia, commented "We continue to intersect high quality lithium and potash brines on the Salar de Diablillos, evidenced by DRC-17 in the north-eastern margin of the Salar. With this intersection and the drilling that is ongoing, we believe that this may increase the size of our recoverable lithium and potash resource. This is a great start to what is expected to be a busy remainder of the year as we advance the Diablillos project, through the completion of exploration activities and culminating in the development of a preliminary economic assessment of the property."

DRC-12R is an extension of DRC-12 (please see press release dated January 13, 2011 for further detail regarding DRC-12) and targeted brines at depth below the resource area. DRC-12R successfully reached depths below the resource area encountering brines grading up to 620 mg/L lithium ("Li") at the bottom of the hole. The sequence is dominated by sand and gravel lithologies that formed the host for the bulk of the 2,817,000 tonne recoverable lithium carbonate equivalent ("LCE") resource estimate announced April 1, 2011.

DRC-17 was drilled on the north-eastern margin of the Salar to a total depth of 156 metres and encountering the basement at 141.5 metres. The basement encountered in this drill hole is highly fractured exhibiting flow rates of up to 86 l/m and lithium concentrations up to 720 mg/L Li at the bottom of the hole. The basement was intersected approximately 38.5 metres deeper than predicted by the gravity survey. The gravity survey formed the basis of the basement modeling used in the recoverable resource and it is therefore expected that the results of DRC-17 will result in an increase in the resource size. Results from DRC-12R and DRC-17 can be found in Table 1.
