Canada Lithium now in Continuous production mode

Canada Lithium Posts Milestone Achievement with First Continuous Lithium Carbonate ProductionTSX: CLQ; U.S. OTC: CLQMF
Canada Lithium Corp. ("Canada Lithium" or the "Company") (TSX: CLQ) (U.S. OTC: CLQMF) is pleased to announce that continuous production of lithium carbonate has been achieved for the first time, as commissioning proceeds through the latter stages at the Company's open-pit mine and processing plant near Val d'Or, Québec. While previous production was achieved in batch-style fashion, all circuits in the process plant, from the crusher through to the final bagging station for lithium carbonate, are operating on a continuous basis.
Day-shift mining operations, temporarily suspended in July, have been reinstated in order to rebuild the ore stockpile depleted over the past quarter. As noted previously, crushing, grinding, concentrator and kiln circuits are operational and will be sequentially stepped-up to design capacity over the coming months. Commissioning of the hydrometallurgical circuit continues to proceed as per the revised timetable, and lithium carbonate product is being packaged on-site.

Throughout the commissioning phase, the Company has continued to monitor working capital levels. Product shipments to Tewoo in China are currently scheduled to commence within the coming weeks. Potash will be a valuable by-product of Rodinia Lithium's operation at Diabillos.

Rodinia Lithium Successfully Harvests Sylvinite On Site At Diablillos
  • SUCCESSFUL HARVESTING OF SYLVINITE DURING REGULAR OPERATION OF PILOT ENGINEERING PROGRAM
  • PILOT PROCESSING CONFIRMS EFFECTIVE REMOVAL OF SYLVINITE IN AN ISOLATED POND USING CONVENTIONAL EVAPORATION BASED PROCESSING
  • EVAPORATION CYCLE OF INITIAL PAN PILOT TEST SERIES COMPLETE CONFIRMING INITIAL PORTION OF THE METALLURGICAL PROCESS DESCRIBED IN PRELIMINARY ECONOMIC ASSESSMENT
Toronto, Canada, May 14, 2012: Rodinia Lithium Inc. (“Rodinia” or the “Company”) (TSX-V: RM; OTCQX: RDNAF) is pleased to report that sylvinite has been successfully produced and harvested at the Company’s 100% owned Diablillos lithium-potash brine project (“Project” or “Salar” or “Diablillos”) in Salta, Argentina.   Sylvinite, a potash and sodium chloride salt, has been harvested during operation of the pilot engineering program being conducted on site.  The results of the brine geochemical development during this pilot cycle was within the Company’s expectations and offers significant confirmation of the initial portion of the metallurgical process described in the Company’s Preliminary Economic Assessment conducted on Diablillos dated December 22, 2011 and filed on the SEDAR profile of the Company at www.sedar.com (the “PEA”).
William Randall, Rodinia’s President & CEO, commented, “Having harvested sylvinite during the regular operation of our pilot engineering program is a major milestone for the Company.  We remain confident that these results confirm our ability to produce potash from Diablillos using conventional methods employed by other major brine producers in South and North America.  This asset continues to meet our targeted milestones as we advance towards feasibility and production.”
This initial result from the pilot engineering program is from the first series of solar evaporation tests at ambient conditions of the Salar.  The evaporation was started May 2011 and concluded in April 2012.  The first series is one of five evaporation tests in progress.  Each test in pools and pans were started at different times of the year to see the effect of weather on the evaporation cycle chemistry.  The resultant brine from these evaporation tests will subsequently be processed for recovery of boron and lithium products.
The process engineering department continues to monitor the evolution of both the pools and pans installed on site at approximately 4050 metres above sea level.  As announced previously, a first stage of magnesium and sulphate removal has been completed, followed by successful removal of sylvinite in the ensuing step, confirming that potash is going to be a valuable by-product of an eventual lithium carbonate production facility.

Rodinia Lithium Inc. is a Canadian mineral exploration and development company with a primary focus on Lithium exploration and development in North and South America.  The Company is also actively exploring the commercialization of a significant Potash co-product that is expected to be recoverable through the lithium harvesting process.
Rodinia’s Salar de Diablillos lithium-brine project in Salta, Argentina, contains a recoverable resource of 2.82 million tonnes lithium carbonate equivalent and 11.27 million tonnes potassium chloride equivalent.  The project contains a recoverable inferred resource of 952,553,000 m3 grading 556 mg/L lithium and 6,206 mg/L potassium. Throughout 2011, Rodinia will focus on continuing to develop the Diablillos project by completing additional drilling and advancing through scoping study.
The Company also holds 100% mineral rights to approximately 70,000 acres in Nevada’s lithium-rich Clayton Valley in Esmeralda County, and is currently in the process of assessing the size, quality and processing alternatives of this deposit.  The Clayton Valley project is located in the only known lithium-brine bearing salt lake in North America, and looks to represent the only new source for domestic lithium carbonate supply.
The Projects are supervised by Ray Spanjers, Rodinia’s Manager of Exploration. Mr. Spanjers is considered a Qualified Person, as defined by National Instrument 43‐101 and has read and approved the scientific and technical information contained in this release.
Readers are cautioned that the PEA is preliminary in nature and is partly based on inferred mineral resources that are considered too speculative geologically to have the economic considerations applied to them that would enable them to be categorized as mineral reserves. There is no certainty that the PEA based on these mineral resources will be realized. The results depend on inputs that are subject to a number of known and unknown risks, uncertainties and other factors that may cause actual results to differ materially from those presented here.

Talison Lithium releases 2nd quarter sales volumes

Talison Lithium Announces Preliminary Second Quarter 2012 Sales Volume

Perth, Western Australia, January 12, 2012 – Talison Lithium Limited (“Talison” or the “Company”) (TSX: TLH | US: TLTHF) today announced its preliminary sales volume and production results for the three months ended December 31, 2011 (“Q2 FY2012”).  The Company also provided an update on its growth projects encompassing its Australian capacity expansion, lithium minerals conversion plant and Salares 7 brine project.
Preliminary Results
Talison sold 75,221 tonnes lithium concentrate during Q2 FY2012 (or approximately 11,200 tonnes lithium carbonate equivalent (“LCE”)). Sales in the quarter were affected by significant congestion at the Port of Bunbury due to berth closures and unplanned Port shutdowns impacting all Port users. This resulted in approximately 38,000 tonnes of Talison’s lithium concentrate sales that were ready at the Port for shipment in early December being delayed into January 2012. These shipments have now departed and will be included in Q3 FY2012 sales. Sales for the 2012 fiscal year are not expected to be affected.
For the six months ended December 31, 2011 Talison sold 155,536 tonnes of lithium concentrate (approximately 23,100 tonnes LCE), a 4% increase compared to the six months ended December 31, 2010.
Q2 FY2012 production was 89,015 tonnes lithium concentrate (approximately 13,200 tonnes LCE), a 7% increase compared to Q2 FY2011.  For the six months ended December 31, 2011, Talison produced 179,723 tonnes of lithium concentrate (approximately 26,700 tonnes LCE), a 9% increase compared to the six months ended December 31, 2010.

Growth Projects
Greenbushes Stage 2 Expansion On Schedule and On Budget
The Stage 2 Expansion at the Greenbushes Lithium Operations continues to proceed on schedule and on budget.  Foundations for the new chemical-grade plant are complete, installation of steel-work is continuing and the conveyer belt to the finished product stockpile is being constructed.
The Company continues to expect commissioning of the Stage 2 Expansion during Q4 FY2012.  Upon completion, the Stage 2 Expansion will double Talison’s current production capacity to approximately 740,000 tonnes per annum lithium concentrate (approximately 110,000 tonnes per annum LCE).

Proposed Minerals Conversion Plant
Responding to growing global demand for an additional secure supply of lithium chemicals, particularly from electric vehicle battery manufacturers, Talison is aggressively pursuing its proposed plant to convert lithium minerals into lithium carbonate (“Minerals Conversion Plant”).
Commencing in early calendar 2012, the next phase of the project includes a detailed engineering study of a 20,000 tonnes per annum lithium carbonate plant located in Western Australia. Talison is targeting commissioning in FY2015 and anticipates making an investment decision on the project by the end of calendar 2012.
Discussions with potential customers for the Minerals Conversion Plant are continuing positively. To accelerate the formation of customer relationships in Japan, Talison recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Sojitz Corporation to discuss on a non-exclusive basis collaborative marketing and distribution opportunities of lithium carbonate produced by Talison to customers in Japan.
Greenbushes Resource Development and Salares 7 Project
Talison is accelerating resource definition drilling at the Greenbushes Lithium Operations due to the encouraging progress to date in the development of the Minerals Conversion Plant.
The objective of accelerating the drilling is to increase lithium mineral reserves and extend the mine life at Greenbushes to support future additional expansions of the lithium concentrate processing plants and a potential doubling in capacity of the Minerals Conversion Plant.
Consequently Talison is reallocating resources in H2 FY2012 from the Salares 7 Project to the drilling at Greenbushes. The drilling program at the Salares 7 Project will be deferred and the focus will be on the environmental approvals process. This is not anticipated to affect the overall development timetable for the Salares 7 Project.
Financial Results Release February
Talison will release its financial results for Q2 FY2012 in mid-February, 2012.
Peter Oliver, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Talison will host a conference call to discuss the results.
Teleconference and replay call details will be distributed prior to the release of financial results.

Rodinia Lithium Receives Preliminary Processing Results for Lithium Recovery at the Salar de Diablillos Project

Rodinia Lithium Inc.
TSX VENTURE : RM
OTCQX : RDNAF

- A Favourable Preliminary Brine Processing Report has Been Received for Diablillos
- Excellent Results With Average Recovery of Lithium of 65 Percent

- Relative to Lithium Carbonate Production, Co-Products of Potash (at A Rate of 13:1) and Boric Acid (at A Rate of 1:1) Are Expected to Be Harvested

- A Conventional Recovery Process That Will Employ A Combination of Solar Evaporation and Chemical Processing to Produce Lithium Carbonate

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Oct. 11, 2011) - Rodinia Lithium Inc. ("Rodinia" or the "Company") (TSX VENTURE:RM)(OTCQX:RDNAF) is pleased to announce that it has received a preliminary processing report for its Salar de Diablillos project ("Diablillos" or "Salar") located in Salta Province, Argentina. The report is authored by Mr. Robert Cinq-Mars and describes a detailed process to recover lithium carbonate from the subterranean brines of Diablillos. The proposed lithium recovery process is a combination of solar evaporation steps, in-field brine treatment, co-product potash ("KCl") and boric acid recovery, and chemical processing to produce lithium carbonate. The process results in a high lithium recovery of 65% once the brine is saturated producing 131,200 tonnes of KCl sylvinite and 10,250 tonnes of boric acid for every 10,000 tonnes of lithium carbonate.
William Randall, President & CEO of Rodinia, commented "This processing report demonstrates the high quality brines of the Diablillos aquifers, resulting in a clean and efficient process with excellent recoveries of lithium. The low impurity levels, in particular magnesium and sulphate, allow for the harvesting of potash as a high impact co-product. The brine quality also ensures that the processing requires conventional reagents at moderate levels, meaning that we will not need to source expensive and hard to find chemicals. I would like to thank Mr. Cinq-Mars for his hard work and expertise that has produced this low-cost method. The findings described in the report will be incorporated into our upcoming Preliminary Economic Assessment."
The process was designed from initial brine with an average composition of 580 mg/L lithium, 7200 mg/L potassium, and 520 mg/L boron. The initial magnesium to lithium and sulfate to lithium ratios were 3.4 and 14.8 respectively. The process contemplates a series of ponds from largest to smallest, where the largest is used to bring brine to saturation and is designed to be unlined, reducing the capital cost of pond construction. Brine extracted from the final pond will have a concentration of approximately 12% lithium chloride and will be transported to the treatment facility, where boric acid and lithium carbonate are produced.
The process was developed and designed by Mr. Robert Cinq-Mars. Mr. Cinq-Mars has a wealth of experience in process design and management. His work experience includes 20 years in the lithium industry. During his time with Lithium Corporation of America, subsequently purchased by FMC Corporation, Mr. Cinq-Mars was Manager of New Resources and Process Development. Mr. Cinq-Mars' work included process research and development of three routes to recover lithium from new reserves, physical evaporation studies in laboratory to support process design, and identification of alternate lithium resources in the world.
The Project is supervised by Ray Spanjers, Rodinia's Manager of Exploration. Mr. Spanjers is considered a qualified person, as defined by National Instrument 43-101, and has reviewed and approved the scientific and technical information in this release. According to the Company's sampling protocol, sample size is to exceed 500 millilitres and be stored in clean, secure containers for transportation. The prepared samples are then forwarded to the ALS Laboratory Group, Environmental Division, in Fort Collins, Co (USA) for analysis. A rigorous QA/QC program is implemented consisting of regular insertion of standards and blanks to ensure laboratory integrity.

Rodinia Lithium Confirms High Transmissivity and Effective Porosity of Brine-Containing Sediments With Initial Pumping and Tracer Test Results

Rodinia Lithium Inc. ("Rodinia" or the "Company") (TSX VENTURE:RM)(OTCQX: RDNAF)
is pleased to provide an update on progress at its Salar de Diablillos project ("Diablillos" or "Salar") located in Salta Province, Argentina. Results for the first series of pumping and tracer tests performed at Diablillos have been processed, resulting in high transmissivity and effective porosity values. The estimated total transmissivity is more than 300 m2/day with horizontal hydraulic conductivity of about 4 m/day. The estimated effective porosity is 15%. These parameters translate to higher recovery rates per well and an overall higher recovery of the in-situ brine in the event of production.

William Randall, President & CEO of Rodinia, commented "The results of these pump tests are a resounding success for the company and an important step in confirming the productive potential of the Salar. The resultant high transmissivity and effective porosity values, as determined by these tests, confirm Diablillos' very large recoverable resource, and allow us to estimate the well requirements for our upcoming Preliminary Economic Assessment, which we expect to be able to deliver in the fourth quarter of this year.

The pumping test site consisted of two pumping wells and four monitoring wells. Pumping tests were performed for 18 hours and 72 hours, using tracer dye injected in an observation well within the lower sediments to monitor brine flow, and a cyclone to neutralize the effects of the gas dissolution from the brine.
SRK Consulting ("SRK") was retained earlier this year to design and supervise the pumping tests as well as to complete the upcoming Preliminary Economic Assessment. SRK has a demonstrated record of accomplishment in undertaking independent assessments of mineral resources and mineral reserves, project evaluations and audits, technical reports and independent feasibility evaluations to bankable standards on behalf of exploration and mining companies and financial institutions worldwide. SRK has also worked with a large number of major international mining companies and their projects, providing mining industry consultancy service inputs. SRK is a leading international practice in due diligence, scoping, pre-feasibility and feasibility studies that employs seasoned specialists in each field of science, geology and engineering. They have extensive experience with in-situ recovery and brine extraction type projects around the world, including Argentina.

SRK's team is led by Terry Braun and Dr. Vladimir Ugorets as Qualified Persons for the project. Dr. Ugorets has more than 32 years of professional experience in hydrogeology, developing and implementing groundwater flow and solute-transport models related to mine dewatering, groundwater contamination, and water resource development. Dr. Ugorets' areas of expertise are in design and optimization of extraction-injection wellfields, development of conceptual and numerical groundwater flow and solute-transport models, and dewatering optimization for open-pit, underground and ISR mines.

- Bailer Tests Confirm Reverse Circulation Brine Sample Results, Increasing Confidence in Grade and Quality of Resource
- Basement Depths Reached, Fractured Basement Increasing Possible Resource Area
- First Pump Test Completed

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Sept. 20, 2011) - Rodinia Lithium Inc. ("Rodinia" or the "Company") (TSX VENTURE:RM)(OTCQX:RDNAF) is pleased to provide an update on progress at its Salar de Diablillos Project ("Diablillos" or "Salar") located in Salta Province, Argentina. Diamond drilling on the Salar is ongoing, having completed six drill holes for a total of 1,008 vertical metres. Drilling consistently encountered sand and gravel dominant lithologies, with recoveries varying between 10% and 100%. Sections with high recovery were sent for granulometric analysis with results varying between 85% and 95% fine sand or greater diameter grain size.

During diamond drilling, brine was sampled using bailer tests, where one and one-half times the volume was removed before collecting the sample. D-DD-01 intersected 150 metres grading 521 mg/l lithium ("Li"), 5,254 mg/l potassium ("K"), 660 mg/l boron ("B"). This hole was drilled in the northeastern portion of the Salar where intersections consistent with the one observed in D-DD-01 are expected. Fractured basement was encountered from 189 metres to the end of hole. The fractured basement was saturated with lithium brine averaging 557 mg/l lithium.

William Randall, President & CEO of Rodinia, commented "Confirming the positive properties of the acquifers, from brine quality and grade to favourable lithologies, is an important step in increasing certainty and de-risking the project. We have now drilled and sampled the deposit with various different methodologies and have found consistent and positive results throughout. In addition, we have now completed our first pump test with final results expected shortly."

D-DD-02 encountered heavy artesian conditions limiting brine sampling to irregular intervals. However, all values collected between 42 metres and 156 metres depth averaged 510 mg/l Li. This hole was drilled in close proximity to D-RC-16, which also encountered heavy artesian conditions with brine values averaging 575 mg/l between 42 metres and 102 metres (for additional information please refer to press release dated January 13, 2011).

This is also the location of the first pump test which was successfully completed last week. Final reports on the pump test results are expected shortly and will be released accordingly.

Talison Lithium Announces Preliminary Fiscal Year 2011 Production Results

Perth, Western Australia, July 14, 2011Talison Lithium Limited (“Talison” or the “Company”) (TSX:TLH) today announced its preliminary sales volume and production results for the three months (“Q4 2011”) and the twelve months (“FY2011”) ended June 30, 2011.  The Company also provided an update on its three growth projects encompassing progress in its Australian capacity expansion, lithium minerals conversion plant and South American salar exploration program.

 Preliminary Results

Robust Growth in Sales Volume and Record Production

Compared to the previous year, FY2011 sales volume increased 32% to 339,501 tonnes lithium concentrate (or approximately 50,000 tonnes lithium carbonate equivalent (“LCE”)).  FY2011 production was 342,097 tonnes lithium concentrate (approximately 51,000 tonnes LCE), a 30% y/y increase.

Compared to the year-earlier period, Q4 2011 sales volume increased 5% to 92,416 tonnes lithium concentrate (approximately 14,000 tonnes LCE).  The Company produced a record 89,505 tonnes of lithium concentrate in Q4 2011 (approximately 13,000 tonnes LCE), a 25% y/y increase. Sales of lithium concentrates are made in large shipments to customers and consequently this may result in variations between production and sales in individual quarters.
The sales volume and production figures represent continued robust growth for Talison.  The Company’s Greenbushes Lithium Operations is fully utilizing the new capacity created both by its Stage 1 Expansion and ongoing process improvement programs.  Demand remains strong for all of the Company’s technical and chemical grade lithium concentrate products and Talison continues to maintain its dominant position in the rapidly growing Chinese lithium market.

Peter Oliver, Chief Executive Officer, commented, “We are extremely pleased with the growth in our sales volume and production.  The Greenbushes Lithium Operations is the highest grade lithium mineral resource in the world, and completion of the current expansion will ensure Talison is highly leveraged to a stronger lithium price in a world where security of supply is expected to become increasingly important as governments look to reduce reliance on oil imports and decrease carbon dioxide emissions.”

Guidance for Fiscal 2012
During fiscal year 2012, Talison expects that demand will remain strong for its entire suite of products. A full year contribution from the Stage 1 Expansion of the Greenbushes Lithium Operations is anticipated and Talison expects both production and sales to be capacity constrained until completion of the Stage 2 Expansion in Q4 fiscal year 2012.

Peter Oliver added “We are very optimistic about the outlook for Talison as a result of the rapidly changing supply/demand dynamics developing in the lithium industry.  Recent substantial price increases from other lithium suppliers are reflective of a tightening in supply conditions while global demand remains strong.  In anticipation of sustained growth in lithium consumption, driven primarily by the secondary lithium battery market, Talison is investing heavily in its three growth projects.

Growth Projects
Greenbushes Stage 2 Expansion On Schedule and On Budget
The Stage 2 Expansion at the Greenbushes Lithium Operations is proceeding on schedule and on budget.  Earthworks are largely complete, concrete was poured for the finished product stockpile, and the foundation framework for the two new ball mills is being erected.  The Company continues to expect commissioning of the Stage 2 Expansion during the second calendar quarter of 2012 (fiscal Q4 2012).  Upon completion, the Stage 2 Expansion will double the current production capacity at Greenbushes.  Total nameplate production capacity will increase to approximately 740,000 tonnes per annum lithium concentrate (approximately 110,000 tonnes per annum LCE).

Proposed Minerals Conversion Plant
Responding to growing global demand for an additional secure supply of lithium carbonate, particularly from electric vehicle battery manufacturers, Talison is focusing heavily on its proposed plant to convert lithium minerals into lithium carbonate (“Minerals Conversion Plant”). Plant capacity is proposed to be 20,000 tonnes per annum LCE in the first stage, and an additional 20,000 tonnes per annum LCE in the second stage.

Basic engineering and location studies for the Minerals Conversion Plant have commenced. The location study is evaluating several Western Australian locations, including at the Greenbushes Lithium Operations, and one overseas location. An external engineering consultant has been appointed to expand on previously completed scoping studies and prepare an updated estimate of capital costs. Discussions with potential customers regarding future lithium carbonate requirements and specifications are also underway.

Talison has employed additional technical and marketing personnel to drive this project.  Based on its analysis of the supply/demand conditions in the lithium industry, the Company is targeting commissioning for the Minerals Conversion Plant in fiscal year 2015.

Salares 7 Project – Second Phase Exploration Program
Following the receipt of outstanding results for both lithium and potassium from the initial drilling at the Salares 7 Project in Chile, Talison is accelerating its exploration program. Talison is currently designing the next phase (Phase 2) of its exploration program and a new custom built sonic drill rig with specific capabilities to suit the ground conditions at the Salares 7 Project is being assembled.

The Phase 2 exploration program will commence in the next Chilean field season and Talison expects to invest approximately US$5 million on the program in fiscal year 2012.  The Phase 2 program includes further drilling at Salar de la Isla, sufficient to form the basis for a potential lithium mineral resource estimate, as well as additional drilling at Salar de Las Parinas, and initial drilling at Salar de Aguilar and Salar Grande.

Talison is also initiating process test work studies to assist in designing a processing facility for the project, and collecting baseline environmental data, an activity that will need to continue for several field seasons, to be incorporated into the facility permitting procedures.
